THE POWER OF YOUR IMAGINATION
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. GEN 1 VS 28. KJV
How do God expect man to conquer the birds of the air, dominate the earth, the whales in the sea, the lion and the sea?
God had deposited powerful equipment in man, which would free him from the limitation of time and space. And this is the human mind.
Naturally, man is limited physically, but when he moves into the realm of his mind he can do anything.
In my mind, I can be in America while I am in Nigeria.
In my mind, i can picture a better future even if I am struggling now.
In your mind, there is nothing you cannot do.
That is why you are what you think. And God will not bless you beyond the level of your thoughts.
Whatever you see possible in your mind is possible. Thoughts are things.
For you to get to that glorious journey of your life you must first see it in your mind.
God said to Abraham in as much you can see it then you can achieve it.
And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:
For all the land which thou sees, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed forever. Gen 13 vs14-15
But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly. Philemon 1 vs 14
What is imagination?
1. Ability to visualize: the ability to form images and ideas in the mind, especially of things never seen or experienced directly
2. The creative part of the mind: the part of the mind where ideas, thoughts, and images are formed
3. Resourcefulness: the ability to think of ways of dealing with difficulties or problems
Imagination produces images or pictures from the information in the mind.
Romans 12 vs 2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
TO CONFORM MEANS
1. Behave acceptably: to behave or think in a socially acceptable or expected way
2. Follow standard: to comply with a fixed standard, regulation, or requirement
3. Be or make similar: to be the same as or very similar to something or somebody, or make something similar
When you conform to the standard of this world you will deform.
TO DEFORM
1. Distort: to become, or make something become, distorted, damaged, or disfigured
2. Spoil: to spoil the appearance of something and make it ugly, or become spoiled and ugly.
God wants us to transform our mind by the way we think.
TRANSFORM
1. To change something dramatically: to change somebody or something completely, especially improving their appearance or usefulness
2. To undergo total change: to change completely for the better
What kind of information are you feeding your mind with? Information can be broken into two words (1) in (2) formation. Which means to create in a shape. Information is the knowledge that forms you internally. Your in-formation (what you take in) will determine your out-formation (your experience).
Through imagination, you can see yourself in the situation that have not yet occurred and also do things you have never done.
By your imagination, you are not limited by time and space. You can choose to be in the future and in past through your imagination.
You can do the impossibility through your imagination.
And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Gen 11:6
The principle is this, whatever picture your imagination conceives can be translated into its material equivalent.
Man’s situation in life cannot appreciate beyond the quality of the picture in his mind. To change your situation, change your imagination.
Imagination is that part of our mind that translates ideas or word into picture.
The principle of photography operates in man’s mind.
Our mind is like the film in a camera. When exposed to light, an image is registered. That image is eventually printed out for you in real life
For God to change your life he will change your imagination. For example for God to change the life of Abraham, first God told him to count the star, that he is going to have many children. God is trying to change the picture of barrenness in his mind. Gen 15vs 5.
God changed his name. Why because names are words and words produce a picture in our imagination. Abram became Abraham meaning father of many nations and SARIA to SARAH meaning princess. You can imagine an 89 years old woman being called princess, which means God is trying to erase the picture of barrenness from her mind and at last she gave birth to Isaac.
You can change your life by changing your picture.
