On Friday, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) issued a warning, stating that it will not proceed with the admission process for Direct Entry (DE) candidates for the 2023 academic year without proper certificate verification for Advance Level candidates.
JAMB urged these candidates to promptly contact their former institutions for certificate verification, emphasizing that students from non-responsive institutions will not be considered for admissions in the upcoming academic year.
The official statement, conveyed via the Board’s official handle, explained that while JAMB had reached out to all tertiary institutions that issued the certificates, some institutions responded positively, while others showed a lackadaisical response.
The statement emphasized: “You are hereby notified that the Board will not process any DE admission without certificate verification, and the admission process for the academic year will soon be concluded. Consequently, all affected students from non-responsive institutions will not be considered for admissions in the academic year.”
JAMB also provided a link for candidates to access the list of non-responsive institutions.
