Oprah Winfrey paid homage to “The Color Purple” at the NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday. Winfrey, who presented the Entertainer of the Year award to Usher, dazzled in a beaded Prada column gown with a bow embellishment at the waistline. Styled by Annabelle Harron, Winfrey accessorized with diamond ball drop earrings and a cocktail ring by Kwiat.
Her brunette tresses styled in voluminous waves by hairdresser Nicole Mangrum, Winfrey’s makeup artist Derrick Rutledge opted for rosy blush and a glossy lip.
“The Color Purple,” which Winfrey produced, received eleven NAACP Image Awards, including Outstanding Motion Picture and Outstanding Ensemble Cast in a Motion Picture. Winfrey expressed gratitude on Instagram, thanking her stylist for curating purple fabrics and designers since last April.
At the event, Winfrey celebrated with Usher, who was recognized for his recent Las Vegas residency and Super Bowl halftime show performance.
The NAACP Image Awards honor the achievements of Black creatives in film, television, and music. This year’s winners include H.E.R., Megan Thee Stallion, and Ciara, with Queen Latifah serving as emcee for the ceremony.
