Funke Akindele Unveils Star-Studded Cast for New Film The Four: No One Fights Alone

Nollywood filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele is set to return to the big screen with her highly anticipated new movie, The Four: No One Fights Alone, scheduled for a global cinema release on December 11, 2026.

The announcement has generated excitement across the Nigerian entertainment industry, with Akindele assembling an impressive cast for what promises to be another major cinema release from her production outfit, Funke Akindele Network (FAAN TV).

Distributed exclusively by FilmOne Entertainment, The Four: No One Fights Alone is built around themes of sisterhood, sacrifice, loyalty and the power of standing together in difficult times.

A Powerful Ensemble

Akindele leads an ensemble cast featuring some of Nollywood’s most recognisable names. The cast includes Bisola Aiyeola, Chioma Akpotha, Waje, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji, Uzor Arukwe, Wunmi Toriola, Ali Nuhu, Antar Laniyan and Ronke Oshodi Oke, among others.

The film also brings together actors and entertainment personalities from different generations, giving it a broad appeal that could make it one of the major Nigerian cinema releases of the 2026 festive season.

A Story About Sisterhood

At the heart of The Four is a group of four women whose lives become connected through a difficult situation involving a young man’s future. Rather than allowing circumstances to divide them, the women are forced to confront challenges together, highlighting the film’s central message that no one should have to fight alone.

The title itself reinforces that message, presenting friendship, solidarity and sacrifice as key elements of the story.

Another December Test for Akindele

The release comes at a significant point in Akindele’s career. The filmmaker has established a strong reputation for releasing commercially successful films during Nigeria’s busy December cinema period.

Her recent film Behind the Scenes became another major box-office success, while her previous projects, including Everybody Loves Jenifa and A Tribe Called Judah, further strengthened her position as one of the biggest commercial forces in Nigerian cinema. Channels Television reported in February 2026 that Akindele’s films had earned more than ₦7.6 billion at the Nigerian box office at that point.

With The Four, expectations are therefore high.

“No One Fights Alone”

Beyond the star power, the film appears to represent Akindele’s continuing interest in stories that connect with Nigerian and African audiences. Earlier this year, she said her priority was not competition but telling authentic Nigerian and African stories that allow audiences to see themselves and their experiences on screen.

Whether The Four becomes another box-office record-breaker remains to be seen, but its cast, themes and December release have already positioned it as one of the year’s most anticipated Nollywood films.

The Four: No One Fights Alone arrives in cinemas globally on December 11, 2026.
