Burna Boy Loses Six Awards at 2024 NAACP Image Awards

Despite being nominated in multiple categories, including Outstanding Male Artist of the Year and Outstanding International Song for his track ‘City Boys,’ Burna Boy lost out to Usher and Tems, respectively.

Additionally, his collaboration with 21 Savage on ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’ was beaten by Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘Cobra’ in the Outstanding Hip-hop/Rap Song category. Another loss came in the Best Duo/Group Collaboration (Contemporary) category, where his song was overshadowed by ‘Sensational’ by Chris Brown featuring Davido and Lojay.

Even Burna Boy’s album, ‘I Told Them…,’ failed to clinch the Outstanding Album of the Year title, losing out to ‘Jaguar II’ by Victoria Monét.

This marks another setback for Burna Boy, who previously faced disappointment at the 2023 BET Hip-hop Awards, the 2024 Grammys, and the 2024 Brit Awards.

On a brighter note, ‘Sensational’ by Chris Brown featuring Davido and Lojay continued its winning streak, adding the Outstanding Visual Album/Song award to its list of accolades on the second night of the 55th Image Awards.
